Our Founder

Shaw Search Partners is led by the expertise of Founder and Principal, Melissa Shaw. Melissa is a 20 year recruiting veteran with extensive experience in developing, implementing, and leading recruiting functions for a cross section of companies and industries on a national and global scale. Having cut her teeth in the recruiting agency industry, Melissa transferred to client side internal recruiting with national and international companies such as Digitas and CVS Health before launching Shaw Search Partners in 2010. Melissa will personally oversee each partnership to ensure superior customer service and the facilitation of compatible and long lasting partnerships between clients and candidates.

Our Philosophy

After working as internal recruiters on the client side for many years, we noticed a void. Outside firms lacked a vested interest to fully understand the business, culture, and environment of the client company, in addition to the job specifications. Agencies would seemingly try to “fill and bill” versus taking the time to understand the role and company thoroughly, to enable clients to make the best match possible for the long term relationship between the candidate and the company. Shaw Search Partners is committed to the development of strong mutual relationships in order to provide the ideal match.

In today’s job market, it often seems that there are more people looking for jobs than are jobs available. At Shaw Search Partners, We will only present the candidates that fit the job requirements, but more importantly, who have the “soft skills” to fit the personality of the team, the culture, and the environment of the company. We would rather present two remarkable candidates that fit all of the angles of the role rather than ten underwhelming candidates who may fit a few of the requirements on paper.

Our Process

At Shaw Search Partners, we use recruitment techniques as a conduit to find passive candidates, not a crutch to find just anyone whose profile matches the job description. The types of people we seek do not have resumes on job boards. They are ones that may not even know they are looking for a new opportunity until the right one is presented to them. We see it as a treasure hunt; networking in order to ultimately find the best talent. Shaw Search Partners has been utilizing this service model with success for years and has built up an extensive network.
