Vice President, Sales

About the Job

Shaw Search Partners is proud to lead the retained search to identify a Vice President, Sales for an industry leader in the design, merchandising, and supply of products to the largest retailers in the United States! The Vice President, Sales will drive sales growth for the entire portfolio of product categories and brands, while being responsible for account strategy, performance, customer service, profitability as well as, nurturing the long-term strategic relationship with accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a sales strategy that increases revenues, maintains/increases margins, and generally expands market share.

  • Research and develop strategies and plans, which contribute actively to the acquisition of new customers and evolving customer engagement patterns.

  • Develop and continuously manage and maintain sales plans to ensure the company is meeting or exceeding expectations and requirements.

  • Manage all assigned accounts and sales strategies across product categories and distribution channels.

  • Negotiate, manage, and exploit all new and existing licensed contract opportunities.

  • Oversee all aspects of customer engagement and all existing customer communication.

  • Manage the sales and sales support team’s daily activity and development while fostering a customer centric culture that emphasizes creative problem solving.

  • Lead by example - balancing empathy and understanding with constructive mentorship.

  • Use project management tools and skills to ensure timelines and deliverables are being met

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant business and sales experience is required with a minimum of 6 years of sales experience in mass merchandise and department store channels, product management, and account management preferred.

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to make quick decisions and act decisively is required.

  • Proven ability to operative effectively in complex environments and to work in a fast paced work environment.

  • The ability to set strategies based on customer needs and business objectives is required

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills are required as well as the ability to change priorities based on customer demands.

  • Ability to create highly motivated, high impact teams with clear career paths and opportunities for recognition and advancement are required.

  • Ability to apply negotiation skills with senior management for allocation of resources is preferred.

  • Domestic travel is required up to 30% of the time is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AX

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Business Management or related field.
