Director, SEO + AIO

Shaw Search Partners is excited to lead the retained search for a Director, SEO + AIO on behalf of a global technology firm, based in Boston, MA. This a hybrid role.

This role is responsible for driving organic traffic and conversion growth across traditional search, AI-powered search experiences, and emerging AI and social discovery platforms across the U.S. and international markets, including Canada and the UK. The mandate is to build a best-in-class organic program that keeps the business at the forefront of rapidly evolving AI search behavior.

This is a highly strategic, cross-functional leadership role with close partnership across Product, Engineering, Editorial, Marketing, and Analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define organic and AI search strategy, priorities, and roadmap based on performance data and emerging trends

  • Oversee execution and optimization of organic initiatives across AI search, emerging AI engines, and social discovery platforms

  • Drive continuous conversion rate optimization across content, research, and conversion-focused pages

  • Lead testing, experimentation, and measurement efforts, translating results into clear recommendations

  • Own organic performance reporting, insights, and forecasting across U.S. and international markets

  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Marketing to prioritize resources and ensure executional alignment

Ideal Background

  • 8+ years of professional SEO experience, ideally in-house and at enterprise scale

  • Deep understanding of modern SEO, technical SEO, content strategy, and AI-driven search behavior

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset with a passion for testing and optimization

  • Experience leading and influencing content, technical, and/or engineering teams

  • Ability to synthesize insights and communicate clearly with senior leadership

  • Hands-on experience with analytics and reporting platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker or similar)

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments
